Students should make their best attempt at the OPTIONAL Home Connections homework. Extra practice is beneficial for all students, however there is no consequence for not completing homework. Students do earn Homework Hoops tickets for turning in completed homework each week. Please avoid any excess stress for your student and utilize the answer keys below to assist your child. The challenge questions are TRULY a challenge. Make your best judgement and if causing stress, have your student skip these.  If your student forgets his/her Home Connections book at school, PDF pages are available to print on Google Classroom. Answer keys are also available on Google Classroom for parents to help their children with homework.

Scholastic Reading Club

Throughout the year, paper order forms will be sent home. Ordering from Scholastic is OPTIONAL, but is a great way to build your home library. Be sure Click the Book Club image at the bottom of the page to order books online for your student. There are many benefits to ordering online, such as the option to pay with credit/debit, earning free books for your student, choose ship to home and access to past and future monthly catalogs, as well as, the entire Book Club Shop.  All online orders will be processed and received monthly with the paper catalog orders.  Feel free to email/write with any questions! Ohio's Standardized
State Testing

In third grade, students take standardized tests for the first time. In the fall, students take the AIR ELA test. In the spring, students take the AIR ELA test for a second time, as well as the AIR Math test.  These test dates are posted on the Third Grade Newsletter and the Crayon Crier all throughout the school year. Click below for the Ohio Department of Education information and family resources for these state tests. The website also offers sample and practice questions for students and families.
